AGM and talk by City Development Manager

The Annual General Meeting of the Alphington Village Forum will be held on Friday 30 June from 7 pm in the Community Centre (entrance behind the Ide Lane surgery and from Chudleigh Road).

Andy Robbins, the new Exeter City Development Manager, has kindly accepted our invitation to speak and answer questions.

The AVF committee meets every month to keep an eye on developments and make representations as required. The outline application for the housing at Aldens East and West has not yet been determined by ECC. When it is eventually approved we expect the detailed application to follow fairly quickly. Regarding the Teignbridge development at Matford, there are new initiatives for cross border collaboration, and we are keeping a close eye on these. Our councillors regularly attend our committee meetings and have been very helpful. You may not be aware of the proposed commercial development at Peamore so we will be discussing this at the AGM. This AGM is important as we expect that there will be detailed applications for both the Alphington and Matford housing in the coming year and we will have to step up a gear to be ready. We would welcome new blood on the committee, but if you don’t want to commit to that, please consider being a street representative.
